It’s true, there’s nothing else quite like Sea-Doo Switch pontoons. While the Switch certainly is a fresh new take on a pontoon with some amazing new adventures on the horizon, it raises some fresh questions. One common inquiry: What type of boatlift do you need for a Sea-Doo Switch?

It’s always recommended to store your Switch out of the water in order to preserve it for many years of enjoyment. If you want to keep your pontoon on the water, the recommended lift setup for a Switch is similar to those used for a tri-hull pontoon with two sets of 5.5-inch-wide (14 cm) carpeted bunks.

You’ll want to make sure the lift is certified for the appropriate amount of weight for your Switch, any accessories on board, and don’t forget to factor in a full tank of fuel (1 gallon of fuel is approximately 6 lb.) and any people that may board while it’s parked on the lift.

The proper Switch lift setup will support both the sides and the center hull. If you’re looking for a quick reference for bunk lengths and angles, your Switch trailer is a great place to start.

The bunks for the center hull should be set 7.3 inches (18.6 cm) lower than the outer bunks. The distance between the inside of the two outer bunks should be set at 72.5 inches (184.2 cm). The distance between the inner bunks is 22.75 inches (57.8 cm).

The recommended lift bunk length varies by model. The minimum requirements are outlined below.

- Compact Models: Center bunks 72 inches (182.9 cm), Outer bunks 84 inches (213.4 cm)
- 16- and 18-Foot Models: Center bunks 108 inches (274.3 cm), Outer bunks 120 inches (304.8 cm)
- 19- and 21-Foot Models: Center bunks 132 inches (335.3 cm), Outer bunks 156 inches (396.2 cm)
