Current Sea-Doo Model:

Life in the water

Live salty. Catch fish. Ride waves. Those are the words you’ll see plastered to the Instagram profile of Sea-Doo FISHPRO Ambassador Bri Andrassy. If you’ve ever had a taste of the Sea‑Doo Life, you know at least some of those words quite well.

A resident of Jupiter, FL, Andrassy splits time between university classrooms, where she’s a professor of nursing, and the open water. But when she does hit the water, it’s all about one thing – fish. Big fish.

Follow any of her social media channels or watch her YouTube videos and you’ll most likely see Andrassy casting and jigging from her kayak. It’s that up close and personal connection you can only find when fishing at the water’s surface that first caught her attention when the FISHPRO was released.

“Man, the damage I could do with that thing,“ Andrassy remembers thinking to herself when she first saw the FISHPRO. With the ability to cover so much more water, and still fish right at the water’s surface, it’s safe to say she was hooked.

How did your interest in PWCs start?
My interest started when I first saw the release of the FISHPRO model, I remember thinking, “gosh the damage I could do with that thing, I would be gone everyday!” I currently use the FISHPRO to fish and spear.

Who makes up your typical riding crew?
As of right now I am the only person in my friend group with a PWC, I gladly take friends with me on my adventures.

Favorite place to ride?
The Florida Keys

Dream place to ride?
The Bahamas

Describe your perfect day on the water:
Seas less than a foot, wind less than 5 knots, making a glassy morning run offshore with the sun starting to rise over the horizon. Ideally I would troll offshore but I would also have my jigging rod set up to drop deep if I see any marks on the fish finder.

Describe your life away from the water:
I am a doctor of nursing practice. I teach full-time as a professor of nursing at a local university. I try to catch a sunset every week and I enjoy spending time with friends.

What’s your one must-have accessory for your Sea-Doo?
An anchor for diving and for fishing structure.

What’s one innovation you’d like to see on a Sea-Doo that doesn’t currently exist?
A live-well for bait.

Favorite place to eat?
The Thirsty Turtle

First artist you add to your play list?
My first song on my jet ski playlist is “It’s A Great Day To Be Alive” by Travis Tritt I grew up listening to country music so that is most likely playing while I’m riding.

Celebrity or person you’d most like to ride with?
I would like to ride with my best friend of 20 years Arian Marra. I tell her all about my FISHPRO adventures, but she lives in California and I have not been able to take her on one yet.

Get Hooked on Bri’s Favorite Way to Fish

The Sea-Doo FISHPRO lets Sea-Doo Ambassador Bri Andrassy fish on the water’s surface like never before. Find out why!

Being on the water, being offshore, that's what makes me feel like I'm present and living in the moment. It makes me feel alive.

My name is Bri Andrassy. I'm a Sea-Doo ambassador and a Doctor of Nursing. I teach undergraduate nursing students.

Life is short, it's a breath, it's gone in the blink of an eye, and I want to enjoy it. I want to go out and see the beauty that's out there. I don't want to take this time for granted, then end up in a hospital bed one day just begging the nurses to take me outside to feel the wind or sun on my skin. I've had plenty of patients in the hospital who definitely thought they had more time on this earth, and they didn't.

Well, every time you go out on the water, there's never two experiences that are the same. So it gives you this sense of excitement, of not knowing what you're going to see next. It just does something different for your soul. That's a good day. You have to experience it.

You need to have that moment of "I want to do this every day," that hooked moment. I had it when I was three years old, fishing with my parents on a rented boat. I hooked on a flounder and was going over the side of the boat with this little Mickey Mouse rod. Later that day, my mom showed me how to clean it. We had it for dinner, and I just had this sense of accomplishment as a three-year-old girl, like that I had provided for my family. I thought, why don't we do this every day?

“So that's my nine-foot sailfish, 125 pounds, caught on my honeymoon in Acapulco. Bri would look at that fish and just say, ‘someday, I'm going to catch one.’ Never in a million years would I think of catching one on a Sea-Doo. The things she does for women, it's just encouraging to think that it started with my mother, her grandmother, and that really touches my heart. Bri just really, really enjoys the escape and freedom of being on the water.” - Diana Franks, Bri´s mom.

When I have a father reach out to me and say, "my daughters have been watching your adventures," it means the world to me because I remember being that little girl that was a weirdo for loving to fish, for loving the outdoors, or for loving all the little slimy creatures that nobody wanted to touch. I love, love that part of it.

I love just seeing that other people are inspired to get out on the water and enjoy the things that I'm super passionate about. And when it's a little girl, you know, it warms my heart even more to know that they see me representing them in a way. That they think, one day, they could do what I do. They could go offshore and catch a sailfish, or they could go catch a gator or camp on the water and not be fearful of it.

I know that this life is a breath, it's gone in the blink of an eye. I think what counts for me is just having that sense of exploration, the feeling that you can be your own captain, and you can choose to go wherever you want to go.
